CSR – How We Make a Difference
Based in Eastern Uruguay, the project involves various forest areas that were previously used to graze herds of cattle. Grazing large herds of cattle is a form of land use that causes severe soil erosion and degradation. Thus, the project aims to replant the damaged area with native trees and will monitor forest development to ensure growth, forest health and fire risk.
By supporting the Weyerhaeuser initiative and the Shandong Wendeng Zhangjiachan wind farm project, we offset 420,000 kilograms of CO2 emissions. It is important for us to invest only in verified green projects. These verifications and standards are evidence of the high added value of the projects, including biodiversity protection and social programs for local communities.
Until now, we have offset 420,000 kilograms of CO2.
